According to CoinMeta, Zcash is expected to introduce quantum-resistant signature opcodes in January, enabling hash-based signatures for transparent payments. Meanwhile, Vizor wallet will launch a private query feature this week, which users can enable in their settings for testing. The Zcash scheme currently only covers transparent payments, and the network has not yet confirmed the activation time of these opcodes. Justin Drake warns that mathematical breakthroughs driven by AI could potentially crack related signatures within months, while Vitalik Buterin believes there is a possibility that encryption technologies could be cracked within the next two years.
