According to CoinMeta, Intercontinental Exchange (CME), the parent company of the New York Stock Exchange, plans to launch futures contracts for cattle and live pigs on December 7th, with the aim of competing with CME Group, which has long dominated the market. CME executives stated that the first batch of contracts will be listed before the end of the year, offering live cattle futures with physical delivery, as well as three types of cash-settled futures contracts for cattle and live pigs prices. All products are subject to regulatory review. Meanwhile, CME is migrating its trading system to the cloud in order to improve trading efficiency. A senior vice president of CME's futures market said that there is a large demand from customers in the market for a reliable alternative in the live cattle futures market.
