According to CoinMeta, as reported by Cailian News on October 14th, brokerage research reports indicate that foreign investors continue to sell Korean stocks, and there is no sign of a slowdown in this selling trend so far. This year, foreign investors have net sold KRW 203.6977 trillion (approximately $141.5 billion) in the Korean Composite Index main board market. Among these, Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix alone have seen net sales of about KRW 176 trillion, accounting for 86% of the total foreign sales volume. The foreign ownership stake in Samsung Electronics has dropped to a new low since 2008, and the foreign ownership stake in SK Hynix has also fallen below the ten-year average. This round of foreign capital withdrawal is a key driver of the decline in the KOSPI index. Multiple factors, including intensified geopolitical risks in the Middle East, disputes over OpenAI annual revenues, and enhanced competitiveness of foreign companies, have combined to suppress market sentiment.
