According to CoinMeta, as cited by Turkish media Sözücü, the founders of HEX and PulseChain, Richard Heart (real name Richard James Schueler), were detained by police in Istanbul on October 14. The police seized 53 Rolex watches, 11 Patek Philippe watches, firearms, electronic equipment, and a large amount of cash; some media reports indicate that the cash amounted to approximately 4 million US dollars. Richard Heart founded the cryptocurrencies HEX and Layer, a public chain called PulseChain, and a decentralized exchange named PulseX. The US authorities previously accused him of issuing securities without registration through these projects, raising over 1 billion US dollars, and allegedly misappropriating at least 12 million US dollars to purchase luxury goods. The related lawsuit was dismissed in 2025 due to jurisdictional issues. In addition, Heart is wanted by Finnish authorities for suspected serious tax evasion and assault cases.
