According to CoinMeta, as reported by Coindesk, Nasdaq-listed fintech company Perpetuals, formerly led by FTX Europe and now managed by Patrick Gruhn, has notified the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) of its intention to operate a tokenized securities trading platform under a five-year "Innovation Exemption" framework. This move makes it the second company to apply for tokenized stock trading in the United States, following the joint venture between OKX and ICE (the parent company of the New York Stock Exchange). The framework allows eligible platforms to trade US stocks via public blockchains, with tokens granting holders the same dividend and voting rights as regular stocks. Relevant companies have 30 days to file any objections. Perpetuals plans to conduct transactions through a licensed automated market maker (AMM) liquidity pool, initially deployed on its Ethereum-compatible layer-2 network Kronos X Public. Tokenized stocks are expected to be traded using the USDC protocol, with potential launch as early as mid-November, although the official launch date has not yet been determined.
