According to CoinMeta, the White House is exploring ways to acquire Bitcoin through existing federal government funds in order to expand the United States' strategic Bitcoin reserves. The Executive Director of the President's Digital Assets Advisory Committee, Patrick Witt, stated to Lark Davis that purchasing Bitcoin on the open market requires congressional authorization, and the government is studying ways to receive or convert existing federal funds into Bitcoin. This plan aims to follow President Trump's executive orders to expand the U.S. strategic Bitcoin reserves without increasing taxpayer expenditures.
