According to CoinMeta, as reported by Decrypt, developer Brandon Thomas has cloned Microsoft Office using AI technology and launched open-source alternatives named Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, which are referred to as Wordcraft, Gridcraft, and Deckcraft respectively. Users can choose to pay $100 per year to use the online version of Microsoft Office or opt for the free “Office” clone, which runs completely offline. Wordcraft supports the docx format and covers 88% of the functions of Word, but it is still in the alpha testing phase. The team estimates that its ability to replace Word in actual work is about 60%. Gridcraft and Deckcraft are also being continuously improved and cover most of the functions of Excel and PowerPoint respectively.
