According to CoinMeta, as reported by Haixia Net, the Jin'an District Procuratorate in Fuzhou, Fujian, recently disclosed three cases involving virtual currency crimes. In one case in March 2025, Zheng Mouyi and others, under the guise of offline off-exchange trading of USDT, raised over 340,000 yuan to trade with virtual currency merchants. After receiving more than 40,000 USDT from the merchants, they attacked the victims with pepper spray and stole the transaction funds. The other two cases involved laundering 210,000 yuan in fraud money by purchasing Wuliangye liquor and making transfers with USDT, as well as illegally raising over 6.28 million yuan through virtual currency mining. All the individuals involved in these cases have been sentenced, with the mining-related case resulting in direct losses of over 3.48 million yuan for investors.
