Coinbase and Webull have reached a cooperation on crypto infrastructure in Canada. According to the information released by both parties, Webull Canada Crypto Limited will integrate with Coinbase's Crypto-as-a-Service platform, utilizing its institutional-level hosting, trading, and liquidity services to advance local crypto business.
Overlapping hosting and trading services
The core of this collaboration is that Coinbase provides the underlying encryption infrastructure for Webull's Canadian business. The services include liquidity access and custody, helping Webull to offer users in Canada features related to crypto assets.
Webull Canada CEO Michael Constantino stated that the company hopes to leverage this infrastructure to launch related services in a more stable manner and to meet customers' requirements for scale and reliability. According to him, as the adoption rate in the Canadian market increases, the platform will continue to provide safer and more compliant investment tools.
Webull Emphasizes Compliance and Expansion Capability
The information disclosed by both parties shows that Webull chose Coinbase mainly considering its asset coverage, global service capabilities, business resilience and scale, as well as its compliance image as a listed company and its pricing competitiveness.
Webull also mentioned that the cooperation between the two parties in other global markets has helped them expand their crypto products in multiple countries and driven an increase in the platform's nominal trading volume. This indicates that Canada is not a standalone attempt, but rather an extension of the existing cooperative relationship between the two parties.
Relevant stocks opened lower at the start of trading.
After the announcement of the news, the reaction in the capital market was relatively calm. On Monday morning, the stock Webull's stock BULL fell by 1.3% for a time, and the stock Coinbase Global's stock COIN fell by 0.5%.
From a business perspective, this type of cooperation reflects that licensed trading platforms are increasingly leveraging existing infrastructure to enter new markets, rather than building their own complete hosting and trading systems. For Coinbase, this also helps to expand its service coverage to institutional and platform customers.
