Microsoft confirmed that Outlook and Exchange Online experienced service disruptions for several hours on Monday, affecting users with delayed emails, failed deliveries, and authentication anomalies. The company stated that they have identified the issue and are testing a fix on some of their infrastructure.
The malfunction affected multiple functions of Exchange Online, including:
- Email sending and receiving delays or failures
- Email content search exception
- Authentication error and email operation failed.
Microsoft stated that the team is reviewing service telemetry and diagnostic data to identify the source of the issue. If the test results are valid, the company will apply the fix to more infrastructure.
Downdetector It was reported that the number of reports began to increase on Monday morning, reaching several thousand in the afternoon. A large number of users on social media also reported that Outlook was not functioning properly.
