News from the IT family on September 27th: Xiaomi's 18 Pro series of smartphones was officially released on the evening of September 23rd. They are equipped with the sixth-generation Snapdragon 8 Elite mobile platform, featuring a rear camera with a 200-megapixel Leica main lens and a 200-megapixel telephoto lens, as well as a AI dynamic back screen. The starting price is 5999 yuan.

IT noticed that Lu Weibing, a partner of Xiaomi Group, President of Xiaomi, President of the Mobile Phone Department, and General Manager of the Xiaomi brand, posted a message last night discussing the overseas listing of the Xiaomi 18 Pro series of smartphones. He revealed that the new series will enter the international market within this year.
Lu Weibing stated that foreign media and users have a high demand for the Xiaomi 18 Pro series, and are looking forward to its early launch on the market.

It is worth mentioning that on September 23rd, during Xiaomi's autumn new product launch event, Xiaomi also released the 18 Pro series of transparent special edition phones, starting from 9,999 yuan. After the launch event, Lu Weibing quickly posted a message revealing that there was high recognition for the Xiaomi 18 Pro series of transparent edition phones, and the first batch of stock was sold out quickly.

For further reading, it is worth mentioning that in recent years, Xiaomi's flagship straight-line models have generally only had a digital standard version; only the Ultra model has been released in international versions. For reference, the 2025 Xiaomi 17 Pro series was not launched in overseas markets, with only the international versions of the Xiaomi 17 and Xiaomi 17 Ultra being released. Therefore, the Xiaomi 18 Pro series will also bring the MiaoXiang backlit screen to global markets for the first time.
In terms of market launch regional planning, the Xiaomi 18 Pro series international version is planned to enter markets such as the European Economic Area, Turkey, Russia, and Japan, but not the Indian market for now. Additionally, the overseas launch event is expected to take place in mid-to-late October 2026, with sales starting in the European market first.
To comply with overseas battery safety and transportation regulations, the battery capacities of two models in the international version have been reduced compared to those in the domestic version: the battery capacity of Xiaomi 18 Pro has been lowered from 7000mAh to 6000mAh, and that of Xiaomi 18 Pro Max has been reduced from 8500mAh to 7050mAh. The charging specifications, which include 100W wired and 50W wireless charging, remain unchanged. The international version will also come pre-installed with Google GMS services, and the system and frequency bands will be adjusted according to local conditions; it is not a simple case of directly selling the domestic versions. In terms of pricing, sources in the European market estimate that the starting price for Xiaomi 18 Pro is around 648 euros, and for Pro Max (12+256GB) it is around 777 euros.
The sixth-generation Snapdragon 8 Elite Edition and the sixth-generation Snapdragon 8 Ultra Elite Edition, which were first launched in the Xiaomi 18 Pro series, are both manufactured using TSMC's 2nm GAA process technology. They are equipped with Qualcomm's third-generation Oryon CPU architecture and represent the industry's first mobile platforms to exceed a clock speed of 5GHz.
The Miaoxiang back screen supports dynamic notifications, AI versatile back screens, and other features. It can generate personalized content such as cute pets and idols, and you can also create custom wallpapers by taking photos to match your phone cases. The first batch includes over 100 application cards covering various scenarios such as quick tools, information notifications, and decompression mini-games. According to Lu Weibing's previous statements, since the launch of the Miaoxiang back screen in 2025, users have used these application cards on the back screen over 4 million times per day, and the number of new back screen wallpapers added each day has also exceeded 3.5 million.
