Bitcoin life insurance company Meanwhile raised $37.5 million in a round of financing led by Bain Capital Crypto, bringing its total funding to $180 million.

This company, headquartered in Bermuda, offers life insurance products with premiums and death benefits denominated in Bitcoin, including one product that accepts a single Bitcoin premium.
Meanwhile indicates that as the company expands beyond the United States, it has signed agreements with 15 brokers in markets such as Switzerland, Singapore, Hong Kong, and the United Arab Emirates to serve high-net-worth clients.
Meanwhile is a life insurance company that focuses on Bitcoin and has received support from the founder and CEO of OpenAI, Sam Altman. In a statement released via email on Thursday, the company mentioned that this financing round was led by existing investor Bain Capital Crypto, with participation from institutions such as Haun Ventures, Framework Ventures, Pantera Capital, Apollo, and others.
Meanwhile raised $82 million in financing last year. The company offers life insurance policies with premiums and death benefits denominated in Bitcoin rather than traditional currencies. This move reflects the market's attempt to integrate this largest cryptocurrency into traditional wealth management products, extending its use from investment and trading to areas such as inheritance and insurance.
Its BTC Life to Pay products were launched earlier this year, allowing customers to pay a one-time Bitcoin premium in exchange for a guaranteed death benefit valued at BTC.

Meanwhile obtained an insurance license from the Bermuda Financial Services Commission in 2024. According to the announcement, the company has signed agreements with 15 brokers serving high-net-worth clients in markets such as Switzerland, Singapore, Hong Kong, and the United Arab Emirates.
