San Francisco, October 28th / PRNewswire / -- Continuum AI Today, we announce the launch of Orca Connect, a new feature on OrcaRouter that allows locally hosted AI models to be converted into globally accessible API models in just seconds. Developers can now connect their personal GPU, workstations, and locally deployed servers to OrcaRouter's unified AI infrastructure, enabling local inference to be accessed from anywhere at zero platform cost.

As open-source AI models become increasingly powerful and consumer-grade GPU solutions become more capable, developers are running more complex models on their own hardware. However, remotely accessing these models, integrating them with AI proxies, or sharing inference resources among teams traditionally requires complex network configurations, infrastructure management, and security settings.

Orca Connect removed these obstacles.

Main functions

  • Instant global API access: By using a single OrcaRouter API key, you can convert a locally running model into a remotely accessible API that is compatible with OpenAI.
  • Zero platform fees: The inference services provided by the user's own hardware are completely free through OrcaRouter. Only the use of managed models when explicitly enabled will incur fees.

Orca Connect also introduces a API key for local use only, a configurable cloud backup strategy, and an expenditure limit, allowing developers to precisely control where the model runs and when cloud resources can be used. Requests are forwarded through OrcaRouter, while inference still takes place on the hardware selected by the user, unless explicit authorization is given to use the cloud backup.

Make AI infrastructure more accessible to everyone

Orca Connect represents another step forward by OrcaRouter towards its open and decentralized AI infrastructure ecosystem vision. In this ecosystem, developers can retain ownership of computing resources while also enjoying the accessibility and interoperability provided by cloud platforms.

OrcaRouter does not require developers to choose between local inference and hosting of the AI service; instead, it integrates both into a unified API.

"Your GPU. Your cloud. Your rules."

Availability

Orca Connect is now available online, and all OrcaRouter users can use it for free. For more information: https :// www.orcarouter.ai / solutions / orca-connect
