IT News on September 27th: According to TechpowerUp, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella stated regarding the layoffs being implemented by Xbox, "I'm very pleased to see ( great to see)." The remarks refer to the restructuring efforts led by Xbox CEO Asha Sharma ( Asha Sharma ).

IT noticed that before Nadella expressed this view, Xbox had just carried out another round of layoffs, eliminating 268 positions, and earlier this year, 1,600 jobs had already been cut. This reorganization plan has merged several game studios and readjusted the layout of projects such as Halo, and many developers were directly dismissed.

Nadella made these remarks during an interview on a podcast hosted by Alex Heath ( Alex Heath ) discussing Xbox's position within Microsoft. When asked about his views on the current situation of Xbox and its future direction, Nadella stated:

I feel very good. The team is carrying out a certain degree of streamlining work, and Asha is also pushing forward with related matters, which I am delighted to see. Next, we still need to figure out how to establish a reasonable and sustainable business model in order to bring the game to more and more users. This has always been our goal: whether it's on the PC platform or the Xbox host platform, we both hope to become outstanding game publishers as well as excellent platform service providers.

For the thousands of employees who have lost their jobs this year, Nadella's statement seems a bit heartless. Sharma defended this reorganization, pointing out that the profit margin of Xbox lagged behind that of similar platforms and game publishing businesses by a factor of 3 to 10. Chief Content Officer Matt Butti ( Matt Booty ) revealed that the company has already completed about three-quarters of the announced layoffs, which indicates that there will undoubtedly be more adjustments to come before the end of this fiscal year.
