Payward has integrated the real-time clearing network of Bank of Singapore Gulf (Singapore Gulf Bank) into its platform, allowing some institutional clients to settle eligible digital asset transactions around the clock and providing financial support for these transactions even on non-bank business days.

This service was initially available to a small number of qualified customers in Asia and the Gulf region, supporting transactions in US dollars. Payward On Sunday, it was announced that more customers and currencies will be added in the future.
Payward is the financial infrastructure company behind the crypto exchange Kraken. The company stated that this integration is aimed at solving a fundamental issue in the crypto market: assets can be traded around the clock, including on weekends, but the cash that funds these transactions is often still restricted by bank cut-off times and multi-day settlement cycles. Through SGB Net, customers can deposit funds into Payward and use them immediately.
Payward Chief Commercial Officer Mark Greenberg stated: "Exchanges, payment service providers, OTC trading desks, and fintech companies all face the same banking restrictions: settlements stop at the end of business days, while their markets do not."
Payward is expanding from its exchange business with Kraken into the infrastructure sector that encompasses trading, custody, payment, and banking services. This move follows a report last Monday that BNY is in discussions with Payward regarding potential cooperation covering digital assets, custody, trading, and payments.
For Bank of Singapore Gulf, linking settlements with the liquidity of Kraken Prime means that institutional clients can complete fund transfers and transactions without having to wait until the next banking day. Neither party has disclosed the number of first batch of clients or the volume of transactions.

DBS Bank of Singapore stated that SGB Net was launched in 2025, handling over $20 billion in fiat transactions per month. Payward and SGB indicate plans to gradually increase the number of customers and supported cryptocurrencies in the future.
