For two years, we called Chinese AI models "cheap knockoffs."
Last week, an event revolutionized the field, but few in the cryptocurrency world associated it with decentralized artificial intelligence (DeAI).
What happened? Kimi K3.
Moonshot released Kimi K3, which anyone can download and run.
It's the largest open-source model to date, with independent rankings showing only three models globally ahead of it (all closed-source US models like Claude and GPT).
The difference lies in cost. The Chinese open-source model costs 60% to 90% less to run than Claude and GPT.
Developers have begun to shift to the Chinese model. On OpenRouter (the platform developers use to access AI models), the Chinese model now handles three times the traffic of the US model.
A year ago, the situation was exactly the opposite.
What impact will this have on DeAI?
Open-source models are the cornerstone of DeAI. Training new models in a decentralized manner remains extremely difficult, so most DeAI projects are essentially doing one thing: running open-source models and selling access.
Therefore, the situation is roughly as follows:
Better open-source models → Increased demand for running them → Expanded market size for DeAI.
But frankly, a better open-source model doesn't automatically guarantee DeAI's success. Developers can simply purchase access from large centralized companies.
However, K3 changed this landscape, giving DeAI an edge.
The model is massive; Moonshot recommends at least 64 GPUs to run it. Nobody runs it at home, meaning everyone wanting to use K3 must pay someone to do it for them.
This is the current state of the market.
DeAI providers have an advantage that centralized companies can't replicate: private access without registration or KYC. @AskVenice provides K3 services based on this philosophy.
Furthermore, there's an additional clause that most people overlook:
K3 isn't entirely free. Any company selling K3 access will need to sign a separate agreement with Moonshot once its annual revenue exceeds $20 million.
And this $20 million includes all of the company's revenue, not just K3's.
Small networks are doing well now. This trap only becomes apparent as operators scale. How decentralized networks handle this is an open question worth considering.
This leads to two areas I'm currently focusing on. These are two different kinds of deals.
Inference Layer (Platform for selling model access):
@AskVenice (Already running on K3)
@dphnAI
@chutes_ai
@OpenGradient
GPU Networks (Raw Computing Power):
@AethirCloud
@akashnet
@ionet
Regarding the second group, one point to note: such a large model requires powerful hardware centrally deployed in data centers. A network cobbled together from random gaming PCs around the world cannot run it.
Therefore, not all GPU networks benefit equally from this era.
I'm observing the following data to verify or refute my argument:
• Inference platform usage
• GPU demand and pricing in computing networks
• Open model share on OpenRouter (currently majority, will it continue to grow)
My argument is not that decentralized AI (DeAI) will win because of improvements in open models.
The problem is that the market size that DeAI competes for has permanently expanded, while network pricing seems to remain unchanged.
I may have missed some good projects. What other projects are you following?

Bought some $AI.
The logic is simple: the first Nvidia dividend combined with RWA animal narrative.
This was also a no-brainer buy; foreign investors love it. Robin's benchmark reached 20M.

Bonds have once again failed to hedge against the risk of a stock market downturn. Since the SPY fell from its June high, bonds such as AGG, TLT, and LQD have all declined. While the timeframe is short, it's reminiscent of 2022. I know this topic might offend some seasoned investors (which is not my intention), but data is data, and people have long relied on the SSE 40 to hedge against the SSE 60. In my view, this is why money market mutual fund buffer ETFs have seen such large inflows. I'm not saying they ultimately can't hedge against stock risk, but their recent performance has been less than ideal. I believe the Fed's prolonged rate cuts have inflated both bond and stock prices, so when the Fed suddenly raised rates in 2022, both fell simultaneously. The recent surge in oil prices has triggered inflation concerns, so we're facing the same dilemma once again.

The password is here.
I'm continuing my long position in gold ($XAU).
I have the PCE data to be released tonight.
My expectation is that the PCE data will be lower than or in line with expectations, which is positive for the market.
It's best to enter the market in batches before the data release.
Let's see if gold can break through 4120 tonight.

I didn't have time to check crypto today. I missed the Mars Coin recommendation from @Crypto_Cat888, which went straight to Binance Alpha and jumped 5x. I'll just have to wait for the next one.
I had lunch with some mentors and chatted in the office from 1 pm to 5 pm.
The mentors were all talking about US stocks. They said they only buy US stocks to trade cryptocurrencies, but I said it's risky because of the lack of liquidity.
I learned a bit about stocks from the senior mentor @octopusycc.
Silly Brother is also involved in stocks @bitfool1.
Me, Handsome Teammate @shuaibaobaommd, is playing games—the most frugal person!
I also have my own thoughts and opinions on the stock market; I'll share my thinking later.
I'm going out for drinks with @Prestonbox tonight.
I'll have to check crypto when I get back tonight.

As the head of the Meme Department, I have a responsibility and obligation to analyze the current top 5 stock memes on the list.
1. MarsCoin
This coin is... well, I wanted to buy 50,000 units at 3 PM, but I missed out. Putting that aside, from a purely meme perspective, it's historic because CZ and Musk have been discussing MarsCoin before. If it weren't paired with the SPCX stock pool, frankly, MarsCoin wouldn't be very significant. But after being paired with the SPCX stock pool, it becomes extraordinary. The two are combined, and with the tax-based coin model, and the initial trading volume exploding, it hasn't truly taken off yet. Give it half a month to develop; the dividends alone might be enough to break even in that time.
2. Jacket: This is also a highly iconic stock meme. It's the leather jacket with Nvidia stock and Jensen Huang's logo—an absolute meme. Honestly, before Butterfly's jacket appeared on Binance's list, I was going to buy Bankr's jacket because, from a meme perspective, it was a definite meme, no doubt about it, and it's paired with Nvidia stock. Since Butterfly is on the list, I can only buy Butterfly's. Binance, after all, has absolute authority in the crypto space.
3. AI: I have no idea what this is, or what stock it's paired with. Just the name alone makes me not want to research it. Skip to 4. GME. Personally, I'm not optimistic about this meme. Pairing it with GME stock is fine—GME is a popular stock with a legendary history and a lot of buzz—but the problem with this coin is that it also has the name GME. It's like the previous two coins: if their names were also stock names, they wouldn't be called "stock memes," they'd just be "stock stocks." If it were paired with GME stock, and the name were something like "Roaring Kitten," or something like RKC or RFC, that would be perfect. The reason I'm not optimistic about this one is simply because the name isn't meme-worthy; it's a bad name.
5. ASTEROID, the space dog, needs no introduction. It's a limited-edition IP this year, but no major exchange has listed it, not even on Binance ALPHA. With the ongoing competition from other SOL chains, Binance hasn't been able to select a suitable meme. Currently, the hype has died down, and the trend is downward. However, ASTEROID has entered the stock meme list. Most importantly, it's not paired with a stock. It's the only one on the list that isn't. It's not a direct pairing with a stock, unlike the previous cryptocurrency-stock model that distributed dividends in SpCX stock. Binance included it, and while not a direct pairing, it still incorporates elements of SpCX stock. This adds a strong connection to Musk's rockets to the meme, so perhaps in the end, this meme will be the dark horse. Maybe it will be the space dog that emerges this year.
6. I just mentioned planning to buy a portion of my holdings in both English and Chinese versions of Mars Coin around 3 PM. It's just a coincidence that I was about to buy when Alpha went live. At that time, I only had 4 million units available—a 5x loss in an instant! I had just bought at the peak, so theoretically I should have waited for a pullback, which it was, and I shouldn't have bought at such a high price. But what if it doesn't pull back? That's possible. If it does pull back, I can just add to my position. We've been saying this year that there are no new models in memes and the crypto world, but this stock meme is the new model this year. Binance has been pushing stocks and neglecting memes, which has drawn criticism. Now, with the development of stock memes, we can capitalize on this opportunity and continue to use memes to drive traffic to stocks. Because you receive dividends from these stocks and they are paired with other stocks, you'll naturally pay more attention to them, which will boost promotion and trading. It's a win-win situation and the biggest innovation in the meme field this year.
7. Anything else to say? I forgot just now. Anyway, that's the gist of the matter, that's the situation. Also, the three memes I'm particularly optimistic about in the list basically perfectly represent and interpret the core essence of the stock pairing memes. They are the most fitting and representative memes. It will be very difficult for any new memes to surpass these in terms of fit and meme quality. These are extremely valuable.
8. Hopefully, this will be the next step. I hope everyone who bought in will also say goodbye.

Is #BSC now all about crypto-equities? Today, $MarsCoin was listed on Binance Alpha, jumping from 4M to 24M.
The trend is all about folded crypto-equities. Besides the most popular SPCX, the pool also includes NVIDIA NVDA and gold XAU. I wonder which trading pair will take off next. Those holding on are already making at least 10,000 USDT in profit. Binance is practically begging you to come home with gold bars! 🪙
