Breaking News: Elon Musk says leading global AI companies should vet each other before releasing their most advanced models.
He believes top AI companies should:
• Hold assurance calls every few weeks
• Give competitors time to review their latest cutting-edge models
• Identify potentially dangerous behaviors before deployment
• Introduce government intervention only if serious problems are ignored
“That’s when governments should step in and take action,” Musk said.

Breaking news: Elon Musk stated that AI competitors must vet each other's cutting-edge models before releasing them.
Evidence: Posted on the X Forum and tagged a key lab.
Binary debate: Should competitors vet top-tier models, or does this only hinder innovation?

XRP Ledger validator Hussein Zangana (aka Vet) opposes lowering the #XRPL reserve requirement.
He believes network security should take precedence over reducing account creation costs. Zangana stated that he will not support lowering the reserve unless it can be proven that the network will maintain the same level of protection against spam and denial-of-service attacks after the reserve is reduced.
Vet explained that the XRPL reserve was established to protect the network's storage and memory resources from spam and distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks.
He pointed out that in 2012, creating an account initially required a reserve of 1,000 XRP. In early 2013, this requirement was reduced to 200 XRP. Since then, validators have gradually reduced the reserve through voting rather than protocol changes.
Currently, opening an XRP Ledger account only requires a basic reserve of 1 XRP. Users holding assets such as RLUSD, USDC, or up to 32 NFTs must also pay an additional 0.2 XRP owner reserve for each object.

How to solve this problem? 1. Learn to better assess people. 2. Find someone with strong people assessment skills and have them vet potential candidates. For example, I would never hire someone Jessica doesn't approve of.

DeepMind CEO Demis Hassabis says AGI is coming soon, and we should establish a "leading AI standards body."
1/ "We've found a way to make sand think." This is a direct quote from DeepMind CEO Demis Hassabis in the past few days.
He predicts AGI may only be a few years away, and this impact is 10 times greater and faster than the Industrial Revolution. A Thread explains it clearly below 👇
2/ The benefits are direct: accelerated drug development, new energy materials, and potentially even freeing resources from becoming a bottleneck for human progress.
However, risks are also looming—cybersecurity is already a real issue, and nuclear and biological safety risks may quickly surface as model capabilities improve.
3/ The more challenging aspect is the current situation: countries and companies are caught in an extremely fierce commercial and geopolitical competition.
Competition has indeed brought progress, but the speed at which cutting-edge models are advancing has exceeded the speed at which humans can understand them; even experts themselves lack consensus.
4/ Hassabis proposed a concrete solution: the United States should lead the establishment of a "leading AI standards body," modeled after FINRA.
The project is a public-private partnership, with a council composed of independent technical experts and open-source representatives. Funding primarily comes from industry sources to attract top talent and support large-scale testing computing power.
5/ Operational Mechanism: Models that meet certain benchmarks are recognized as "cutting-edge models." Corresponding labs are required to release model cards, strengthen internal cybersecurity, and vet key personnel.
Initially, labs voluntarily submit their models for review 30 days before release; this may become mandatory once the mechanism matures.
6/ Testing Content includes capability assessments in high-risk areas such as cybersecurity and biological threats.
Specific testing is also conducted to detect whether intelligent agents will bypass security restrictions or exhibit deceptive behavior. Benchmarks are updated quarterly to prevent "score manipulation."

XRP validator Hussein Zangana (online name Vet) has called on the XRP community to stop spreading claims that SWIFT is using or will soon adopt XRP.
Vet stated that these claims are distracting people from the real progress being made in the XRP Ledger (XRPL) ecosystem.
This comes after former SWIFT Chief Innovation Officer Tom Zschach publicly refuted speculation that SWIFT would integrate XRP.
Vet advised investors to "block" opinion leaders who claim SWIFT is already using XRP or assert that it will definitely use XRP in the future.

XRP validator Vet (Hussein Zangana) believes that the XRP ledger's consensus mechanism is more suitable for long-term sustainable development than Bitcoin's Proof-of-Work (PoW) model.
Vet stated that Bitcoin's mining system efficiently distributed Bitcoins in the early stages of the network. However, with the continuous decline in block rewards, he believes the system may face economic challenges.
Zangana explained that Bitcoin's PoW mechanism initially served two purposes: ensuring blockchain security and distributing new Bitcoins using mining rewards.
Vet contrasted this with the XRP ledger. The XRP ledger does not use a consensus mechanism to distribute XRP. Instead, the network created all 100 billion XRP at genesis and then distributed them gradually over time.
Vet stated that because XRPL has no mining rewards, its consensus mechanism focuses on verifying and settling transactions. This allows XRPL to achieve low cost, fast confirmation, and extremely low transaction fees.

In July, Ripple significantly increased the issuance of its own stablecoin, $RLUSD, issuing over $200 million worth of RLUSD on XRPL in just two days.
In the first two days of July alone, Ripple issued $291.6 million worth of RLUSD through XRP Ledger and Ethereum.
According to data from a community-driven RLUSD tracker built by XRPL validator Vet, approximately $225.8 million (about 77%) of this was issued on XRP Ledger.
